For real though.
The outrage culture we live in now is insanity. The criticism and belittlement of well intended individuals is killing any chance of starting important conversations. The recent Pepsi commercial fiasco seems like a good point of reference, (even if it did seem tone deaf).
Several years ago now, I made the decision not to argue with those I disagree with, but to instead ask as many questions as my ideological ‘opponent’ would tolerate. Until we understand those we disagree with, it is easy to seem them as evil or vile or intolerant or bigoted. It feels much safer to hate someone for what they believe, than to know who they are, why they believe it and have to deal with those opposing thoughts.
So in lieu of argument, belittlement or frustration…I must ask…Y U Mad?
This live video was from a show at The Basement in Columbus, OH. It was not my show, nor was my attendance planned in advance, however, it was a lot of fun, and I think you’ll be able to see that. I hope you enjoy watching! Let me know what you think! I’ll drop some links where you can find the song, too.
